Chestnut Homes are one of the leading new home developers in Lincolnshire. We enjoy an enviable reputation for building quality new homes on attractive well-designed developments, varying in size from 50 units up to 500 units. The company continues to grow in a planned and sustainable way, and we are looking to appoint a Purchase Ledger Clerk to work at our Head Office in Langworth near Lincoln.

 

You will be expected to:

  • Plan your own workload to ensure all invoices are matched to delivery tickets, prices & quantities checked, coded & entered within deadlines
  • Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details.
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • File invoices
  • Act as a point of contact for all relevant enquiries
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Answer telephones
  • General administrative support for the accounts department and Ad-hoc duties as required

 

To be successful in the role, you will need to possess:

  • Previous high-volume purchase ledger experience,
  • Excellent written, numerical & verbal communication skills,
  • Strong PC and technical knowledge and skills with a good working knowledge of the Microsoft package, including Word, Excel, and Outlook,
  • Ability to manage and organise files within the Windows filing system,
  • Previous experience of Pegasus Opera and Pegasus CIS an advantage, but not essential,
  • Understanding of the Construction Industry Scheme is again an advantage, but not essential
  • Ability to handle a large volume of invoices and maintain excellent attention to detail,
  • Well organised, motivated, and self-disciplined with the ability to work quickly and calmly under pressure,
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective and positive working relationships within and outside of the department,
  • Must demonstrate high levels of integrity and adopt a professional approach in all interactions – should be transparent, open, and honest in all dealings,
  • A flexible attitude to the team’s work, including a willingness to reprioritise and undertake additional tasks if required.
