Adopt Chestnut Homes’ Imp ahead of the Lincoln sculpture trail

Chestnut Homes is inviting local businesses, schools and community groups to adopt its A Little Lucky Imp ahead of this year’s Lincoln sculpture trail.

The trail, organised by Lincoln Business Improvement Group (BIG) and in association with Wild in Art and the EBP (Education Business Partnership), will see 31 uniquely decorated Imps dotted around the city centre between Saturday 3 July and Wednesday 8 September.

Chestnut Homes’ Imp has been painted by artist Caroline Greyling. Before the trail is put in place, local community groups around Lincoln are being encouraged get in touch with the housebuilder to have its Imp visit them, up until Monday 7 June.

After the summer, the Imps will be auctioned off on Lincolnshire Day (1 October) to raise money for St Barnabas Hospice.

The Lincoln Imp is a popular city symbol, based on the legend of the Imp in Lincoln Cathedral, rumoured to have been sent by the devil and turned to stone by an angel.
