Celebrations as Lincoln development is shortlisted for prize

A development which is revitalising a neglected piece of land on a main route into Lincoln city centre has been shortlisted for an industry award.

Chestnut Homes is building LN6, a development of 52 new homes, on a site between Westbrooke Road and Tritton Road, which was previously fenced off and over-grown grassland. And staff at the company – based in Langworth, near Lincoln – were delighted to hear that the project has been shortlisted for the Residential Project of the Year award at the inaugural Lincolnshire Construction and Property Awards. The awards have been launched to celebrate outstanding performance in the county’s thriving property industry. The winning scheme will be announced at the awards ceremony, which will take place on Tuesday 7th February.

David Newton, Managing Director of Chestnut Homes, said: “This site was previously an area of wasteland and it is now home to a development of quality, contemporary new homes. “LN6 fronts onto Tritton Road, one of the main arterial routes into Lincoln city centre. We felt that an edge of city centre location like this called for carefully-designed homes in a modern style which were sympathetic to their surroundings. “This prominent site is now home to a landmark development with considerable kerb appeal, and we are very proud of what we have created. “Being shortlisted for this award is a real feather in the cap for our team, who have worked hard to bring this scheme to fruition.”

New pedestrian and cycle routes have been created within LN6, linking Westbrooke Road, Western Avenue and Tritton Road.

The development was recently praised by a monitor from the Considerate Constructors scheme for its “exemplary standards” of cleanliness and professional image, as well as the “good relationships” which Chestnut Homes had developed with neighbours. The company received the highest score it has ever received under the scheme – following the monitor’s visit.
