Chestnut Homes' sales negotiator celebrates 20 years of helping Lincolnshire house hunters

This year, sales negotiator Jayne Fable celebrates 20 years with Chestnut Homes. Over the past two decades, she has helped approximately 500 house hunters find their dream home.

Jayne hasn’t always worked as a negotiator though. She spent the first 33 years of her working life as a hairdresser but it was while working at an estate agent on the weekend, that she developed her passion for selling homes.

Looking for a new challenge, Jayne searched her local paper and saw a sales negotiator role at Chestnut Homes. Since then, she has been a valued member of the team, having worked across all Chestnut Homes developments over the years, before settling at Kings Manor, Coningsby.

As one of the first faces many of our home buyers meet when beginning their house-buying journey, Jayne approaches every day with a smile, and is dedicated to helping people find their dream home. Her typical day involves opening the showhomes, meeting and greeting customers on site, doing tours of the development with buyers, popping the kettle on and helping with enquiries.

Reflecting on her long-standing career at Chestnut, she said: “Buying a home can be a stressful process, and for first-time buyers especially, there’s a lot of information to take in. Part of my job is to help guide people through this journey and make it as easy as possible - whether that’s assisting with solicitors and mortgage brokers, or providing information on the great schemes we have on offer.

“My favourite part of the job is getting to hand the keys over on completion day and seeing the happy faces of our customers about to embark on their next chapter.

“It’s such a fulfilling role and I’ve met so many people from different walks of life in the last 20 years. Sometimes, I will help sell a first home to someone, and they return a few years later to find a family home and it’s beautiful to see that growth.”

Now moving to part-time after her impressive two-decade career with Chestnut, Jayne is looking forward to continuing to help house buyers with their new home dreams, while also taking more time to spend with family and friends.

Sharing why she’s stayed at Chestnut Homes so long, she said: “I love that it is still a family-run business, after 36 years and everyone is treated like a person and not a number.

Helene Key, sales manager at Chestnut Homes, said: “Jayne always manages to build personal relationships and is a friendly face at Kings Manor, helping customers during their journey. Our sales negotiators are a crucial part of the process, and can make a huge difference to the buying process.

“It’s fantastic to be able to celebrate this very special anniversary with Jayne, and we thank her for all her hard work and dedication to Chestnut Homes over the past 20 years.”
