Discover the latest interior trends for 2025

Whether you’re in the mood for a quick and easy refresh or looking for a more dramatic change, the top trends for the season are all about experimenting with colour and adding interest with finishes and shapes.

We’ve worked with interior design specialists Edward Thomas Interiors on our stylish new show homes at The Quadrant and Kings Manor and they have revealed their top tips for incorporating the season’s hottest interior design trends into your home.

Playful colours

We’re seeing a rise in mood boosting colours that add a pop of fun and brightness to a room. Think sweet sorbet shades like creamy pistachio green or a dusky raspberry pink to pair beautifully with neutral tones, or if you like something a little deeper, try jewel tones like emerald green or a deep sapphire blue to add some dramatic elegance.

You can start small with soft furnishings such as blankets and throw pillows, or if you want to make a statement, you could experiment with larger items such as painted furniture or artwork.

Dark wood finishes

Rich wood tones are making a strong comeback, offering a timeless touch to modern interiors. Coffee tables in shades of walnut and chests of drawers in dark oak are cropping up in a range of interior inspo looks, and are a classic way of adding some structure or depth to a space.

If you want to experiment before committing to the higher price point pieces of furniture, you can add new wood finishes with photo frames, shelving or coffee table trays first.

New neutrals

The neutral palette seems to be evolving year on year, but we’re way past the simple greys and whites for 2025. Think warm, organic tones like mushroom, chalk, mustard, olive and caramel, or the Pantone colour of the year ‘mocha mousse’. These shades help create a soothing, gentle atmosphere without stripping your home of character.

If you’re a big neutrals lover, these shades all work in harmony across walls, flooring and kitchen cabinets. Layering this with natural materials such as cotton or linen curtains and wooden tables and chairs, gives dimension to the space without it feeling overwhelming.

Curves

Rounded features continue to be a standout feature for interior design. From arched doorways, to curved sofas and scalloped edges on cushions or mirrors, these softer edged features add visual interest to your home without being too harsh.

Not only do they help soften sharp corners in a room, but they also give a more relaxed look which can be ideal for living rooms, bedrooms or open-plan living spaces.

Colour drenching

One of the bolder trends this season, colour drenching is exactly what it says on the (paint) tin - using a single colour across multiple sections in the room. From the ceiling and walls, to the skirting boards and door frames, you can cover the space in your favourite shade.

This trend works for all colours, so whether you want to go for a bold teal shade or a more muted butter yellow, you’ll still get the desired immersive effect. The technique really comes to life when you pair it with warm, cosy lighting and textured features to keep it from looking flat.

Softer styling

In recent years, polished, glamourous styling has moved aside and made way for a softer, layered and more lived-in style. It's all about relaxed silhouettes, natural elements and texture that add a comfortable yet curated feel to your space. Curtains and cushions in organic fabrics like linen, baskets and table mats in jute, and accent pieces crafted from stone and clay have continued to rise in popularity.

This look is less about perfection, and more about creating a space that feels effortless.
