First residents move in at Morton development
The first residents have made the move into their new homes at a development in Morton, near Gainsborough.
Five sets of happy homeowners have now moved into their apartments at The Wharf 2, which we are building on land off Trentside.
The first residents picked up their keys on December 18th and moved in ready for Christmas, while more new residents have been making their move to The Wharf 2 during January.
David Newton, Managing Director of Chestnut Homes, said: “It’s always hugely satisfying to see people moving in to one of our developments, knowing how much hard work has gone into the designs and the construction of the homes.
“Our first residents are settling in well at The Wharf 2 and we wish them all the best for the future in their new homes.
“It is great for us to see The Wharf 2 taking shape and the first homes becoming occupied. We expect to complete work at the development this month.”
The Wharf 2 is being built beside The Wharf, an award-winning development which we built in 2010.
John Scully, 79, is one of the new residents at The Wharf 2. He said: “Moving into a two-bedroom apartment was the best thing I could have done at this time, having previously lived in a large detached house for several years.
“Instead of having to tend a garden all the while, I can now look out of my window and see a lovely riverside view.
“I lived in Doncaster for many years, but decided to move to The Wharf 2 to be near to my son Neil, who was full of praise for the apartments when he moved into his home at The Wharf.
“I have definitely made the right decision in moving to Morton.”
