Lincoln Cathedral

Lincoln Cathedral is centrally located in the city of Lincoln and is based at the top of Steep Hill – making it an imposing feature, which can be seen from miles around the city.

Built in 1088, the cathedral is the third largest in Britain after St Paul's and York Minster. It was the tallest building in the world for 238 years (1311 – 1549).

According to the cathedral website, over £1 million a year is spent keeping the cathedral in shape for the 200,000 people that visit the cathedral each year.
