Long overdue ‘homecoming’ for sales advisor Jo

A familiar face has returned to the sales team at Chestnut Homes – two decades after she first worked for the company.

Jo Walker, 49, has joined the Lincolnshire housebuilder as a sales advisor at the Bridgeways development in Alford. It marks a welcome return to the industry for the mother of two from Boston, who has spent the past 16 years as a customer service advisor in the social housing sector.

In her early twenties she worked as a sales advisor for several housebuilders - including Chestnut Homes - through an estate agent, before moving into the travel industry with Thomas Cook.

Jo said: “Back then my job involved a lot of travelling, and with a young family to bring up I ended up making a bit of a career move to Thomas Cook before I got my job in social housing. “My children are now in their late teens and early twenties themselves, and I started to think about my career again and the progression that I can make. “I applied for a job with Chestnut Homes as working for them in the past was something that I really enjoyed. The company has grown and expanded so much over the years, but it still has a family feel. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. “My last role was conducted primarily on the phone so it’s great being in a job where I can meet the customers in person and share their experience with them. It’s always much more enjoyable when you’re selling homes that you love, and that’s certainly the case with Chestnut Homes.”

David Newton, Managing Director of Chestnut Homes, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Jo to the team – in many ways, this feels like a long overdue homecoming! Jo has got a wide range of experience in the housing industry and I’m sure she’ll prove to be a wonderful addition to the business. “One of the things we pride ourselves on as a company is our friendly working environment so it’s extremely pleasing to know that Jo had such fond memories of working for us before that she decided to come back after all this time.”
