Chestnut Homes appoints furry new recruit to provide unique perspective on Sibsey development

A LINCOLNSHIRE housebuilder has recruited a new furry member to its team at one of its newest developments, Millers Walk in Sibsey.

Chestnut Homes called on local dog owners to nominate their pets to be the new furry face of the development as part of their Furry Mascot campaign which launched on 15th August 2023.

The competition saw Lincolnshire locals share their favourite pooch pictures for a chance to be crowned as Chestnut Homes’ Furry Mascot of the year.

The four finalists; Harvey, Manny, Jelly and Basil were then put to public vote on Chestnut Homes’ social media channels, before Labrador Jelly was crowned victorious, receiving the highly coveted Bone of Honor and a hamper full of toys and treats.

In her new role, Jelly will have the important task of lending a paw in providing house hunters with a dog’s eye view of life at the Millers Walk development and will be the chief consultant on all dog-related queries such as the perfect walks around Sibsey and Boston or the best local shops and cafés for belly rubs. She will also take house hunters on a video tour of the development’s show homes, providing a unique perspective on the new development.

Helene Key, sales manager at Chestnut Homes, said: “We’re so excited to welcome the newest fluffy member to our team. Pets play such an integral part in our daily lives, and as a result are always carefully considered when house hunting. This campaign is a really special one for us as it’s a real celebration of the important furry members of the family who go above and beyond to provide unconditional love.

“Sibsey is a fantastic village with a thriving community that has lots to offer both humans and furry friends. With a range of picturesque walks and shops, The White Heart pub and the historic Trader windmill to admire, it’s the perfect village for families and first time buyers to call home.”

This year’s Furry Mascot competition follows the success of last year’s campaign where loveable Labrador-Retriever cross Ted was crowned winner. Over the coming months, together with Ted, Jelly will lend their pawfect insights into life around Lincolnshire.

Celebrating the win, Laura, owner of Jelly said: “We’re over the moon to see Jelly crowned as the winner and we know she is head over paws with their lovely prize too. She is so friendly and loves to get out on walks to explore Lincolnshire, whatever the weather, so they’re definitely perfect for the job.

“As Lincolnshire locals ourselves, we know firsthand all the great things life in Lincolnshire has to offer, and I know Jelly is really looking forward to getting stuck into her duties as the newest member of the Chestnut Homes team.”

Millers Walk, which takes its name from Sibsey’s prominent Grade I listed Trader Mill, comprises 39 two to five-bedroom homes across 15 house types. These include the four-bedroom Foy home - a new style for the housebuilder that is not currently available at any other Chestnut Homes development.
