School Trip to LN6

Youngsters from St Peter at Gowts Primary School in Lincoln visited a new homes development in the city to take a tour.

The Year 3 and 4 pupils visited LN6 off Westbrooke Road on Friday (May 13th) to find out more about the 52-home development which is being built by Chestnut Homes.

The children were shown around the site by the company’s Land and Development team, Neil Kempster, Rebecca Archer and Jessica Sargeant.

Teacher Hannah Smith said: “We have been learning about several topics which linked to the visit to LN6, so it was very interesting for the children.

“They learnt that there is a lot for a developer to think about before work on a site can actually begin.

“The team from Chestnut Homes told the children about what they look for when they choose sites for development and how they decide what to build on the land – from the sizes and types of homes to the materials they are built with.”

The children also learnt about the measures taken by the developer to conserve wildlife on development sites.

Chestnut Homes’ Land and Development Director, Neil Kempster, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome the children from St Peter at Gowts school to LN6 to show them what we are building.

“The children were very inquisitive, interested and well behaved, and we really enjoyed telling them all about the development.

“It’s great for us to tell members of the community, regardless of age, more about the work that we do, and we look forward to working with other schools and local groups to do visits like this in the future.”

Chestnut Homes is building two and three-bedroom homes at LN6, with a range of housetypes which include bungalows and apartments.
