Why We’re Hosting a Hair-Raising Easter Storytime at Kings Manor

At Chestnut Homes, we aren’t just building houses; we’re building communities. As a family-owned housebuilder based right here in Lincolnshire, we know that the Easter holidays can be a busy (and sometimes expensive!) time for parents.

That’s why this April, we’ve decided to do something a little different. We’re opening the doors of our Kings Manor showhomes in Coningsby for a completely free morning of storytelling, creativity, and community spirit.

A Special Guest: Local Author Bethany Walker

We are thrilled to announce that we’ve invited the wonderfully talented local children’s author, Bethany Walker, to join us.

Bethany has a gift for making reading fun, and she’ll be sharing excerpts from two of her most popular books:

• For the little ones: Do Lions Hate Haircuts? — a charming tale for younger children.
• For the older kids: Medusa Gorgon’s Bad Hair Day — a hilarious take on the classic myth that older primary-schoolers will love.

More Than Just a Reading

It’s not just about sitting and listening! We want the children to get hands-on, so Bethany will be leading some themed craft activities related to her books. Whether they are crafting lion manes or snake-hair, it’s a great way to encourage literacy and artistic skills at the same time.

We’ll also have refreshments for both children and adults. It’s a chance for parents to relax in the beautiful surroundings of our showhomes while the kids are entertained—without a "sales pitch" in sight.

This is a purely community-focused event. You don't need to be looking for a new home to attend—everyone is welcome!

How to book: To help us manage numbers and ensure we have plenty of craft supplies for everyone, we have created three arrival slots. While these aren't strict, they help us keep the atmosphere relaxed and comfortable for all our guests.
