Work underway at new homes development in Scothern
Work has begun on a development of 30 new homes which will be built around a new village green in Scothern.
Chestnut Homes is building its new development The Grange on a site off Heath Road on the edge of the village.
Planning permission for the scheme was granted by West Lindsey District Council last year. The Grange will comprise a mixture of one and two-bedroom bungalows, one-bedroom apartments and two to five-bedroom houses.
The developer is set to release the first homes for sale soon.
David Newton, Managing Director of Chestnut Homes, said: “We’re pleased to start building work at The Grange. The homes which we are building have been designed to reflect local architectural styles, and we believe that our development will be a quality addition to Scothern.
“Of the 30 homes which we are building, 16 will be sold on the open market and 14 will be made available as affordable housing, helping to address housing need locally.
“It is often the case that people are left with no choice but to move out of a village because of the lack of homes available, high property prices and a shortage of affordable homes, and we believe that our development will help to address these concerns in Scothern.
“The Grange will be created around a village green, providing an attractive rural setting and ensuring that the site is in keeping with the village and local area.
“We look forward to opening the doors to The Grange for the first time in the early summer.”
As part of work on The Grange, Heath Road has been widened and improved in front of the development, while the existing footpath will be extended to provide pedestrian access. The junction with Dunholme Road has also been improved.
Chestnut Homes is based in nearby Langworth and has been building new homes across Lincolnshire since 1988.Back To News
