Wyberton home was the perfect choice for first-time buyers

A couple from Boston are over the moon after buying their first home together from a Lincolnshire-based housebuilder. Mitchell, 24, and Lulu Grainger, 23, found their perfect first house at Chestnut Homes’ The Quadrant development in the nearby village of Wyberton. Lulu, a self-employed singing teacher at a school in Skegness, whose husband Mitchell is a long-distance lorry driver, said: “We had been renting a three-bedroom townhouse in Boston but really wanted to buy our very own home. We looked at a few new developments in the area, but The Quadrant just felt right.”

Lulu and Mitchell purchased a three-bedroom semi-detached property using the Government backed Help to Buy scheme and made their move in October 2018. Lulu said: “We are really enjoying living here. It’s lovely and quiet but also really handy as it’s only a couple of minutes’ drive to everything that we need including our families – we can’t fault it. “We love the space our home gives us. We really wanted a house that we could grow into and live in for a long time, so it feels amazing to have achieved this. “One of the things we particularly liked about the development was the selection of showhomes and how helpful and friendly the sales staff were. Kamilla and Nikki knew us on a first name basis and made us feel really comfortable throughout the buying process.”

Backed by the Government, the Help to Buy scheme allows purchasers to secure a new home with a five per cent deposit and a 20 per cent equity loan from the Government, allowing the buyer to access a 75 per cent mortgage.

Chestnut Homes is currently building a range of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes at The Quadrant, with three-bedroom homes starting from £229,950.
