Escape to the country: Couple retire and find their dream home in Lincolnshire

A recently retired couple stumbled across their forever home when passing by Chestnut Homes’ The Meadows development in Dunholme, Lincolnshire

 

Having recently celebrated their 40 year anniversary, Clive and Carolyne Todd have found their dream home which will allow them to spend more quality time together in retirement.

 

The couple has moved over 15 times and in the most recent years have been travelling up and down the country for work and social purposes. Deciding they wanted to settle down in one location, the couple viewed countless properties, both new and old, and found the perfect property in the peaceful Lincolnshire countryside.

 

Clive said: “We’ve led such a busy life and now is the right time to press the pause button to spend more time with my wife and enjoy what the world has to offer. 

 

“I used to work near Boston in Lincolnshire and we’ve always thought the area is beautiful. Although we originally wanted to retire and move to Yorkshire, we just couldn’t find a house with the space we needed.

 

“It wasn’t until we drove past The Meadows development that we thought we’d pop in and look, on the off chance. The sales staff and customer care team have been superb and we’ve found our own little sanctuary in the heart of Lincolnshire.”

Clive added: “We fell head over heels for The Ledbury house type which is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom house. We live an active lifestyle, and we needed a property to suit that, so our new home is perfect. It has a garage to fit all our gym equipment, and spare rooms with space for hobbies.

 

“We also love our outdoor space so were pleased to see that our new home has a large garden that keeps us both busy. The development itself has lots of routes to countryside walks, green spaces and nature reserves, where we spend a lot of our time too. We love it here and couldn’t think of a better place to enjoy our golden years.”
