Construction work starts on phase two at LN6

Construction work has begun on the second phase of a new homes development in Lincoln.

Chestnut Homes has just begun work on the 27 homes it is building in phase two at its LN6 development.

LN6 is being built on land between Westbrooke Road and Tritton Road, around two miles south of the city centre.

Chestnut Homes completed work earlier this year on 52 homes in the development’s first phase, and LN6 was named Residential Project of the Year at the Lincolnshire Construction and Property Awards in February.

David Newton, Managing Director of Chestnut Homes, said: “LN6 is revitalising a previously neglected piece of land on one of the main routes into Lincoln, and we are proud to be bringing this site back into use.

“The new homes we are building will help to meet the continuing shortage, and the landscaping we have carried out has created an attractive green setting for the development.

“We were extremely proud when LN6’s first phase was named Residential Project of the Year, and the same high standards of workmanship are being applied as we build the homes in phase two.

“When completed, LN6 will comprise a total of 79 homes, green open space and newly created wetland, and we believe that development is an excellent use of this previously disused piece of land.”

A new boardwalk across the wetland at LN6, linking the development with the cycleway and footpaths on Tritton Road, opened earlier this year.

The 27 homes in phase two will be a selection of two and three-bedroom houses and four bungalows.

As in the first phase, the housetypes being built within phase two will all be named after Barons.

The names were chosen because Chestnut Homes sponsored the Construction Baron in 2015’s Lincoln Barons’ Charter Trail.

Properties for sale include the De Lacy, De Clare and De Ros.
