Love is in Lincolnshire: newly engaged couple start their next chapter in Market Rasen
Two soon-to-be newlyweds have unlocked the key to their home and hearts with a brand new house of their dreams and the chance of a new life together in Lincolnshire.
Originally from Leiston, near the coast of Suffolk, Duncan Goodwin, 56, and Mandy Hale, 57, decided that after 27 years together, they wanted a change of scenery. After looking as far as Scotland, the couple found their dream home at our Chantrey Park development in Market Rasen, before Duncan sealed the deal with a surprise proposal.
Despite being together nearly three decades and sharing a son, Duncan decided it would be the perfect time to ask Mandy to be his wife as they prepared to embark on an exciting new chapter in their lives.
Explaining more, Duncan said: “I just knew it was the right time. We had decided to move somewhere new for the first time in our lives, and although Lincolnshire isn’t that far from Suffolk, it was still leaving behind the life we had built here. I didn’t feel worried though, because I was really excited about the next adventure with Mandy, and starting a new chapter with her as my fiancée only made it even better.”
Chantrey Park comprises of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes and is located in Market Rasen on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds.
To help secure their new home, the couple made use of Chestnut Homes’ exclusive Easy Mover scheme, which allows a buyer to reserve an eligible plot while the housebuilder helps them find a buyer for their current property.
Duncan added: “Despite searching across Lincolnshire, our Chestnut Home is the only property we loved, so our move hinged on us securing this home. Being able to use the Easy Mover scheme made it much easier to manage the process of selling a home in Suffolk while also moving our lives to another town.
“I left my job of 37 years as a senior operations manager in Suffolk, and when we found our dream home, we had no plans beyond that. Six months later, our social lives are thriving and we’re both working in wonderful community roles, while also enjoying our hobbies.”
Helene Key, sales manager at Chestnut Homes, said: “It’s heart-warming to know that Duncan and Mandy felt at home at Chantrey Park and have quickly embedded themselves in the Market Rasen community. Their story is one of love, adventure and inspiration and our Easy Mover scheme allowed the couple to begin the next chapter of their lives together in Lincolnshire as quickly as possible.
“The scheme helps streamline the process of moving home, as we aim to find a buyer for the property within six weeks and while also paying the estate agent fees. We assist buyers with all aspects of selling the home and will monitor all purchasers of the chain to ensure the sale completes as quickly and easily as possible.
“We wish Mandy and Duncan a lifetime of happiness in their new home and the very best for this exciting new adventure in their love story.”
The Easy Mover scheme is available at all Chestnut Homes developments in Lincolnshire on selected properties.
